On the afternoon of November 12, a seminar entitled Research Project on Normative Practice Sharing under Multidisciplinary Collaborative Diagnosis and Treatment Management Mode was held with Hospital Management Institute, Fudan University, Shanghai Shenkang Hospital and Sun Yat-Sen University Cancer Center in an online manner, which was initiated by the Medical Department and Cancer Center, with the joint participation of the Department of Medical Oncology, Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery and Department of Medical Imaging. He Beibei, Deputy Secretary-General of Hospital Management Institute,e of Fudan University; Zhao Rong, Deputy Director of Hospital Development Center, and Yang Jiahong, Director of Executive Office of Shanghai Shenkang Hospital, He Yun, Deputy Secretary of Sun Yat-Sen University Cancer Center, the relevant persons in charge of the Department of Medical Oncology, Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery and Department of Medical Imaging, and the Medical Department of the Hospital, as well as all officers of the Cancer Center, attended the Seminar, which was chaired by Deputy Secretary-General He Beibei.
Hao Jingcan from the Cancer Center introduced the work progress regarding MDT of the Hospital from 2018 to 2021. Gai Xiaohong, Deputy Head of the Medical Department summarized the current status of MDT work in the Hospital, and proposed several problems involving quality management, evaluation methods, informatization during operation of MDT. Li Enxiao, Director of the Department of Medical Oncology, exchanged the issues about MDT patient admission and the doctor responsibility system with the attending experts.
With respect to such problems, He Yun, Deputy Secretary of Sun Yat-Sen University Cancer Center, performed experience sharing in the aspects of meeting the needs of patients, improving the level of diagnosis and treatment of doctors, and discipline construction, in combination with the tasks of Sun Yat-Sen University Cancer Center. He Yun emphasized patient admission standards, expert team admission standards, MDT diagnosis and treatment norms, information construction, clinical research and the importance of evaluation of diagnosis and treatment effect of the MDT team on team management; meanwhile, he also introduced MDT work systems such as the chief expert responsibility system and the attending physician responsibility system established based on the four aspects of “special diseases, special admission, special treatment, and special research”, which may provide great reference value for MDT management in the Hospital.
Wang Zheng, Deputy Director of the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery, put forward several problems in the specific implementation of MDT for pancreatic cancer, and Zhao Rong, Deputy Director of Hospital Development Center, Shanghai Shenkang Hospital, provided the solutions. She pointed out that the operating mode of MDT should conform to the purpose of MDT, and guide the operations of MDT. She also proposed the relevant policies, systems and management innovation development directions for multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment. Niu Gang, Deputy Director of the Department of Medical Imaging, introduced the imaging operations of MDT in the Hospital, and emphasized the role of structured reporting in improving the operating efficiency.
Finally, He Beibei made a summary. Through this Seminar, we learned about the operating methods and experience of MDT in domestic leading units, which would provide new ideas for the management of MDT in the Hospital.
